About the Piece

I'lTaking inspiration from traditional Chinese "Shan Shui" (mountain-water) paintings, this piece combines an idyllic landscape with a contrasting backlit imagery.

When the light is on a mass of heavy pollution producing buildings can be seen in the distance, pumping smoke into the sky of the idyllic landscape. Inhabitants look on as their environment changes back and forth powerless to alter their situation.

Multinational corporations are generally the largest polluters in the world, they have no allegiance to any specific country (save for the best tax rates) and they do not suffer taxes, fines or other punishments in correlation to their destructive practices.
